The Ohio based rockers, The Black Keys have shed a new light on the music scene with their blues inspired soundscape which led them to bring to the world major hit songs such as their unforgettable "Lonely Boy." As they started off back in 2001, who knew that their career would explode into an international success like it has, members Dan Auerbach on guitar and lead vocals and Patrick Carney on drums sure didn't know what would follow when they joined forces. But us music lovers are eternally grateful for when inspiring bands come onto the scene such as The Black Keys!
During the second wave of garage rock during the 2010s, The Black Keys began their journey onto the mainstream scene as they highlighted on their influences taken from some of the greatest blues artists of all time, including the likes of; Junior Kimbrough, Howlin' Wolf, and Robert Johnson. With their unique sound, The Black Keys caught the world's attention and their music gave a much needed freshness to the mainstream. However before that The two members and friends released their debut album The Big Come Up in 2002 and spent the next decade building their following.
The hard work has truly paid off for The Black Keys as they received their well earned breakthrough in 2010 with Brothers and the album spun out of control, winning them Grammy Awards for their first major chart topping single "Tighten Up." The band continued on their journey and within just a year dropped another groundbreaking record, titled El Camino as it included the single mentioned before "Lonely Boy" – The Black Keys were bigger than ever. The band hit the road in support of the album and their name started to become known not just within the US but internationally.
By the time of their eighth record Turn Blue, The Black Keys were established in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK and further around the globe and they hit the number one spot once again. In 2015 The Black Keys took a short break from the music world but in their fans delight returned with their ninth and most recent album – Let's Rock release just last year!
Now with the brand new album released – The Black Keys are back! Join them this September as they celebrate the record with a powerful performance at MidFlorida!
