Originally a neo burlesque-ensemble, group founder Robin Antin struck a deal with Interscope Recors to turn the Pussycat Dolls into a music group. Led by singer Nicol Scherzinger, the Pussycat Dolls released their debut single, “Don’t Cha.” The song achieved phenomenal success and went to number 1 in several countries, even gaining five times platinum in the US. The follow up singles, the Grammy nominated “Stickwitu,” “Buttons,” and “Beep,” also found immense traction, leading their debut album PCD into becoming one of the best selling pop albums in 2005. The group later dropped their sophomore effort Doll Domination which also found incredible success across the globe.
